My husband and I stayed at Twin Cedars on a side by side trip. There are miles and miles of incredible trails you can access right from Twin Cedars. The lake and row boat was an added touch of relaxation. We really can’t speak highly enough of how great the resort is! We stayed in one of the motel units which was very clean, comfortable and perfect to come back to after long days exploring the trails. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed in cabin 1 during our honeymoon. We both enjoyed the fact that there was no WI-FI nor reception. This place was absolutely amazing. The whole resort felt warm and inviting. The fire in the pit was very nice and relaxing. It’s a great place to unplug and get into nature and relax

The best time of our life! It was our first family vacation since having our son a year and a half ago and it was a great getaway. The cabins are beautiful and very clean, as well as the property. The sweetest owners, and a big family resort dinner hit home. Awesome fishing on the pontoon! Caught 4 different types of fish, and one of the biggest we have ever caught. Our son loved the loons and ducks that came right up on the yard! Very close to beautiful attractions like taquamanan falls, white fish point, and Mackinaw. Thanks for the perfect experience, will see you next summer! - July 2018 -

What a quaint spot in the U.P. We kayaked Frenchman Lake in the early AM, using the dnr boat launch right next to the property. Beautiful lake, few houses. Mostly a secluded resort, lovely hosts, always checking on you. Great fire pit with plenty of chairs and large sitting area. Rooms are updated and clean. We had a grill which we enjoyed. Even toasted bagels on it. Beware, there is no wifi. Enjoy the break from social media, but make sure you know where you're going as you travel around the area. We struggled with directions to the kayaking adventures we were seeking, but loved our stay.

My family and myself stayed a few days in mid July 2017. We had a terrific experience! Twin Cedars is a small family owned resort in Trout Lake, MI. We were a bit late in finding a place to stay in our visit to Michigan’s UP, so the only rooms they had available were what they refer to as their “Motel Rooms” ( Rather than stand alone cabins ). But this worked out fine for use. The room had it’s own deck area which had a nice table and grill for our use. The room was nice and large and plenty of space for the 4 of us. It also had a nice sized refrigeration and microwave. The entire resort was very well maintained and looked great. They even had a shared fire pit where we had a chance to meet some of the other guests, a great crew. We also rented Kayaks while were there and Bob ( the owner ) did a terrific job of giving me good directions on a terrific route to take around the lake and between the other nearby lakes. We kayaked for nearly 3hrs and had just a terrific time. The “city” of Trout Lake is quite small, like most UP towns, but they have what you need. The General Store is well equipped with camping/fishing type needs and food and there are also a couple of restaurants in town ( we didn’t eat there, so no experience to share ). The other nice thing about Twin Cedars is it’s location. It’s about 30min outside of St. Ignace and then between 30min and and an hour to many of the favorite East UP spots such as the Soo Locks, Whitefish Point and Tahquamenon Falls and of course Mackinaw Island. Overall it was a great experience. The owners were very friendly and accommodating helping us out with ideas for our Trip and any needs we had. Strongly recommended.

Ive been visiting Twin Cedars for a few years on the 4th of July week. I have to say it’s an amazing place to relax and unwind. I was skeptical the first year because I’m driving about 5-6 hours, but it’s been a real pleasure to drive through Michigan and well worth the trip. Each cabin comes with a row boat which makes late night star watching fantastic. Just jump in and row out 100 feet and you will be in another world seeing the stars in a black sky. Milky Way is very easy to spot. I love going out to the sandbar and taking my camping chairs so we can sit with feet in the water and just say day dreaming and listening to music. The cabin is always cool with a breeze and has everything we need. We bring paper plates and cook on the Weber grill on our deck - less to clean and more time to fish! Most evenings Bobby tosses a few logs on the fire and we close the night at the fire pit. Whether you are a fancy hotel person or a camper type you will love this place. It’s all about getting comfy and relaxing. Google me if you have any questions - I’m easy to find.
